Kush Wadhwa, Managing Director
Kush Wadhwa is the founder and managing director of GSI. His work focuses upon providing independent, non-partisan advisory services in strategic areas of policy development, with a particular interest in issues of ethics, socio-economics and inclusion; operational areas related to process improvement, risk analysis, implementation, pilot testing, and training; and management areas including dissemination activities. He has participated in research projects affecting the future direction of assistive technologies for the elderly and disabled (e.g., lifestyle monitoring, cognitive support systems), security and surveillance technologies (e.g., biometrics, RFID, intelligent video content analysis), and emerging technologies and applications (e.g., ubiquitous computing, robotics, biotechnology).
Mr. Wadhwa has extensive experience in the clinical research industry, through his work with independent clinical research sites in the Americas, Europe, and Asia, including standalone study centers, assisted living centers, and hospital-based sites. He has provided consulting services to the European Commission, the UK Technology Strategy Board, NATO, the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, the US Department of Homeland Security and the UK Home Office. Mr. Wadhwa holds a Master of Business Administration from New York University, and a Bachelor of Engineering and Bachelor of Arts from Stevens Institute of Technology.
Nancy Baker, Chief Operating Officer
Ms. Baker is a Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Global Security Intelligence, providing strategy consulting services, as well as directing the daily activity of GSI’s team of consultants providing technical and strategic advisory services to both private and public-sector deployers of security systems, including non-biometric and biometric technologies, and addressing a broad range of operational issues related to successful deployments, including training, process and procedure, privacy and ethics, and regulatory issues (e.g., Sarbanes-Oxley, ISO 17799, etc.). Prior to GSI, Nancy served in senior management roles in high-technology and consulting services firms, building and directing teams responsible for a global IT infrastructure, knowledge transfer, client support, and QA, as well as consulting management and communications-oriented roles. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management/Accounting and Computer Science.
Philip Polcaro, Senior Vice President
Mr. Polcaro is Senior Vice President responsible for the Professional Services Division of GSI, providing a wide range of short- and long-term professional services staffing for our clients in the private sector. His focus is on the needs of clients in pharmaceutical, healthcare, automotive, insurance, education, and telecommunications sectors. Through intensive client collaboration, he and his team work to respond to a broad range of needs for project management personnel, business and technical analysts, and exceptionally qualified technical experts. He has also developed a robust network of contacts to provide cost-effective off-shore outsourcing options to augment on-site staff. Prior to GSI, Phil has a long history of success in addressing client needs through creative, budget-conscious, solutions through his roles in account management and resource management with global professional services organisations, including his most recent tenure with Capgemini and Sogeti.
David Wright, Senior Fellow
David Wright is a founder of Trilateral Research LLP, in which GSI is a partner, and is a frequent and esteemed collaborator on a broad range of research projects. David has initiated, organised and participated in several successful consortia in the European Commission’s Fifth, Sixth and Seventh Framework Programmes (FP5, FP6, FP7). Along with GSI, Trilateral Research is a partner in the recently concluded SENIOR (Social Ethical and Privacy Needs in ICT for Older People: A Dialogue for Roadmap) project and in the BRAID (Bridging Research in Ageing and ICT Development) project. He is a member of the Living in Surveillance Societies COST action, of Working Group 2 of the FP7 Think-Trust project, of the European Foresight Monitoring Network (EFMN) and a member of the international advisory board of the iNTeg-Risk project, which is focused on the “Early Recognition, Monitoring and Integrated Management of Emerging, New Technology Related Risks”. He is also a member of European Network and Information Security Agency (ENISA)’s Stakeholder Forum on Future and Emerging Risks. He is also a freelance researcher on the faculty of Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). He has published many articles in peer-reviewed journals.
